
Doctor César M. Garcés Carranza PhD. was born in Lima, Peru. In 1975 he traveled to the United States, entered Southwestern College and graduated in 1979 (BA) in Psychology and Social Work. In 1985 he joined Fordham University and then graduated in 1985 (MSW).
In 1998 he joined Yeshiva University (WWSSW) and graduated in 2003 (PhD). From 1989 to 2013 he worked at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital. From 1989 to the present he works as a Psychotherapist at the Queens Neuropsychiatric Institute in Queens, New York and at Community Counseling Services at Center Moriches, New York.
Dr. Garcés has vast experience working with people from different racial and multicultural groups. He has published several articles on Social Work in Spain, Latin America and Puerto Rico. He has participated as a speaker at international Social Work conferences in Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Colombia. In 2017 he received the Recognition of Excellence in Social Work by the International Social Work Organization (OITS) in Santiago-Chile.
